Coverage
Business Insurance
Commercial coverage backed by three decades of forensic accounting — plus a free review of your contracts, leases, and business structure with every policy.
What this coverage does
Business insurance for Utah small businesses that need more than a quote. Gee Family Insurance helps eligible Utah small businesses align coverage with the documents and operations that actually create risk — leases, lender requirements, contracts, certificates of insurance, vehicle use, payroll, entity names, and business property.
Coverage can combine a Business Owner's Policy, general liability, commercial property, commercial auto, workers' compensation, professional liability/E&O, and business interruption with commercial umbrella, cyber liability, employment practices liability, commercial crime, hired and non-owned auto, lessor's risk, and other coverage where available — built into a program that fits how your business actually runs.
The Gee Family Insurance Business Advantage: most agents hand you a quote and move on. James does something no other commercial agent in this market does — he reviews your contracts, loan covenants, leases, and business structure alongside your insurance, at no extra charge. It is the same advisory work he billed at $500–$600/hr as a federal-court expert witness, and every commercial client gets it free. This review is built into your policy — insurance first, advisory insight included. When a situation calls for deeper professional work — restructuring, forensic accounting, or tax advisory — that is a separate engagement, available when you need it rather than bundled in as a one-stop shop.
Farmers is our primary market. When a risk doesn't fit Farmers, we can and will explore approved specialty or brokered placement options.
What's included
Business Owner's Policy (BOP)
The all-in-one package for most small businesses — general liability and commercial property bundled in one cost-effective plan.
General Liability
Protection from claims of bodily injury, property damage, and personal or advertising injury — coverage most businesses can't operate without.
Commercial Property & Business Interruption
Covers your building, equipment, and inventory against fire, theft, vandalism, and other covered risks — and replaces lost income and ongoing expenses if a covered event forces you to close temporarily.
Commercial Auto (incl. Hired & Non-Owned)
Coverage for the work vehicles and drivers a personal auto policy won't — including rented, borrowed, and employees' personal vehicles used for business, a gap most auto policies leave open.
Workers' Compensation
Required for most Utah employers — medical costs and lost wages for injured employees, plus protection from related lawsuits, with placement options for harder-to-place classes.
Professional Liability / E&O
Protects against claims of negligence, mistakes, or failure to deliver professional services as promised.
Commercial Umbrella
An extra layer of liability above your general liability, commercial auto, and employer's liability limits — shielding your business assets from a catastrophic claim.
Cyber Liability / Data Breach
Covers notification, recovery, liability, and lost income after a data breach or cyberattack — for any business that holds customer or payment data.
Employment Practices & Commercial Crime
Two employee-driven exposures in one: defense and damages for claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, or retaliation (EPLI), plus protection from employee theft, fraud, forgery, and other dishonest acts.
Lessor's Risk
Liability and property protection for owners who lease commercial space to tenants.
Garagekeepers
For eligible auto service businesses only — covers customers' vehicles in your care, custody, or control.
Flood & Earthquake
Both are excluded from standard commercial property policies — and the Wasatch Front isn't immune. Separate coverage for two of the costliest perils a Utah business can face.
Specialty & Brokered Options
For risks that don't fit a standard market — including vacant or unoccupied buildings and other hard-to-fit exposures. Farmers is our primary market; when a risk doesn't fit, we can explore approved specialty or brokered placement options where available.
Free Advisory Review
A no-charge review of your contracts, leases, loan covenants, and business structure with every commercial policy.
